Cube noir gallery, The Albany, Liverpool.
The pictures exhibited are part of a series of paintings inspired by the beautiful game, showing that football, like art, has a knack of imitating and reflecting life and the world it exists in. Some of the photographs used as a starting point for the paintings were chosen because Gareth felt the photograph summed up the decade in which they were taken. Others were chosen due to their homo-eroticness, something very taboo in the world of football. This has been exaggerated by the titles of the pictures.
